Memphis Art & Design Week was created as rally call to local artists, designers, and creative disruptors that lead a creative practice in a city unique for its history and its people.
MAD Week welcomes participants from Memphis and around the world. Memphis Art + Design Week was birthed in the year of the COVID-19 Pandemic which left the creative community at a loss of many of the hospitality jobs that afforded them the income and time to create.
We knew our city needed something uplifting and daring. We believe in creating an environment that supports individuals of all abilities; deepening the level of engagement and exchange among all people while highlighting the value of art and design in defining the community.
By working with community leaders and artists we are removing barriers and ensuring equitable access to the exploration of art and design. Through intentional, ongoing efforts we work to provide inclusive and accessible experiences for exhibitions and programs.
